Warth Schroecken
Bürstegg

Cultural experiences in Warth-Schröcken.

Typically Walser.

The towns of Warth and Schröcken along with the entire Tannberg area are packed with Wals culture. Venerable historic buildings, stately Wals homes and traditions that are kept alive, in particular the ‘s’Walserdütsch’ language which is still in use, are evidence of the settlement by the Walsers from the canton of Valais in Switzerland. Wals culture is alive and well, especially in associations: In the local traditional costume groups, Schröcken music group and the Alpenphorn group ‘Wartherhorn’, the young and the old meet, handed down from generation to generation. Wals culture is tangible and clear in various exhibitions and book publications.
